#MemorialDayAtHome

Looking for meaningful ways to honor Memorial Day at home this year?  The 390th Memorial Museum has gathered a list of activities you can do with you family, as well as links to museums across the country offering online gatherings.  We hope you will join us in #MemorialDayAtHome.

Memorial Day from home family activities

POPPY CRAFTS

Felt Poppy Pins

View video instructions from the National WWI Museum and Memorial on creating a beautiful poppy pin with felt and hot glue.

Paper Poppies

These easy paper poppies from Three Little Ferns are made with simple household items and perfect for little people.

Pinwheel Poppies

A great activity, courtesy of Jen Walshaw, creator of the website Mum in the Madhouse.  This is a great interactive craft that requires a bit of skill but not too much in the way of supplies.

MEANINGFUL MEMORIAL ACTIVITIES

Learn about the Flag

These lessons and activities developed by PBS may have been written for teachers, but they are perfect for families too! These activities can be done by PreK-5 aged children.

Write to a service member or first responder

Operation Gratitude offers many opportunities to support our first responders and military members.  An easy but impactful activity is to use their online form to submit a message which will be printed on one of their postcards sent to our heroes.

ONLINE GATHERINGS

We will add gatherings to this section as we learn of them.  Do you know of a live streaming ceremony or virtual memorial wall you think should be included?  Please email us at museum@390th.org!
