Local Air National Guard volunteers help preserve valuable Air Force artifact

Members of the 162 Fighter Wing aircraft maintenance organization made a special visit to the 390th Memorial Museum on Monday, June 15th, 2020.  They weren’t visiting for a tour (though that was a benefit) but to clean “I’ll Be Around” – the B-17 Flying Fortress in the care of the museum.

Keeping this historic aircraft clean requires a team using carefully selected products that are effective but not too harsh.  The volunteers had a great opportunity to take a look around the museum, which is currently still closed to the public.

Thanks to these local heroes for being part of preserving and telling the story of the 390th Bomb Group, and their service during WWII!
