En Memoria: an interactive community exhibit

October is here, and the 390th Memorial Museum is starting the holiday season with a very special program. En Memoria is an interactive community exhibit, honoring the veterans of the 390th Bomb Group. There are two ways to participate:
- The community is invited to contribute to the ofrenda that will be displayed in the Museum through October, and then taken to the Procession. The ofrenda, a temporary altar for families to honor their loved ones and provide them what they need on their journey into the next life, is the most recognized symbol of Día de los Muertos. As a nod to our local Tucson culture, the Museum is creating the ofrenda and can use your help making paper flowers and butterflies. Join us Thursday, October 3rd at 9 am, Viva Coffee House, to make decorations, and then be sure to mark you calendars for Tuesday, October 8th starting at 9:15 am to come to the Museum and help build our ofrenda!
- Descendants of our veterans are invited to submit photos of your loved ones who have passed on for inclusion in the ofrenda. The Museum will also be collecting photos and submission forms for those photos to be included in The All Souls Procession Ancestors Project. The Ancestors Project displays photos of the dearly departed at The All Souls Procession, as well as curating an online Facebook album. For a copy of the photo submission form, email Kate, Director of Communications, at kkeszler@390th.org
Don’t forget to join the 390th Memorial Museum at the annual All Soul Procession in downtown Tucson on Sunday, November 3rd and see our ofrenda join other amazing displays and performances.
Come and be part of En Memoria!
