390th Memorial Museum Volunteer of the Quarter is Announced!

The 390th Memorial Museum Volunteer of this Quarter is Bill Powers! Bill has been a volunteer in the Museum’s research department since September of 2014. Bill is a retired NAVY Senior Chief Petty Officer (E-8) (2nd highest enlisted rank in NAVY). He served in Vietnam as a combat photojournalist. He also served on the staff of Commander U.S. Forces Philippines and U.S. Naval War College.

After retirement from the NAVY, Bill worked in the public affairs office for the Port of San Diego, and as a field photojournalist for the Departent of Commerce as well as the Immigration and Natualaization Service.

Since starting at the 390th, Bill has researched and drafted responses to over 1500 requests for research. He also does a great job as the Museum’s event/reunion photographer. We thank Bill for his time, dedication and expertise!
