Keep Calm & Merry On: A WWII Holiday Celebration
KEEP CALM & MERRY ON with the 390th Memorial Museum! We invite you to come celebrate with us and embrace the DIY spirit that defined the holidays during WWII. We are offering opportunities to create handmade, heartfelt gifts to give!
On Saturday, November 16th, come out to Pima Air and Space Museum and the 390th Memorial Museum for a day of family fun! Make Do and Make Merry kicks off the holiday season. Stop by and make fun crafts perfect for gift giving with activities sponsored by the Postal History Museum and Ignite Sign Art Museum, and help decorate the Museum’s tree. Story time will take place hourly, so bring the family. Program included with entrance to Pima Air and Space- be sure to enjoy their Wings and Wheels event while you are here!
There are two fun chances to enjoy some holiday spirit with your coffee. Our Museum on the Move story hour on Thursday, December 5th at 9 am is all about Victory Gardens and gives you and your little one a chance to practice your sewing skills making some garden themed crafts. Then Saturday, December 7th, come have a Cuppa Holiday Cheer. Despite WWII rations, the British still managed to enjoy a cuppa! Learn about tea etiquette and make some beautiful infused sugars, perfect as gifts for the tea and coffee lovers in your life.
